Beau is Born

 My water broke Saturday night at 8pm and I jumped for joy and started cheering!  My due date wasn't for another week and I was so far beyond uncomfortable that I couldn't even remember what life was like not being pregnant.  This was by far my hardest pregnancy and I was so grateful that it was ending early!  

I called my friend Rachel and she sped over to watch our girls and we left for the hospital.  Erick's parents came down and picked them up soon after.  It was so surreal driving to the hospital not being in any pain yet (that came soon enough) and knowing that we were going to meet our little boy soon!

He came at 6:19 on Sunday morning after 10 hours of labor and 3 hours of pushing.  His heart rate really dropped several times and we had a few scary moments waiting for him to be born.  

He came out beautiful and perfect and so big!  So big that his blood sugar levels dropped very quickly right after birth and he had to have several bottles to try and raise them.  His blood sugar kept dropping and he had to have his blood tested about every half an hour for the first 18 hours after he was born.  They finally leveled off and he was out of the dangerous range after that. 

Erick's parents and our girls came to visit that night.

The girls were so excited to meet their little brother!

Everyone got to hold him and kiss him just like they had been waiting to do!

My nurses were all so great and this nurse let the girls listen to his heart beat when she came in to do a check up

First car ride

His eyes were so swollen he had a hard time opening them for a few days.  We still don't know what color they are going to be.

First Doctor's appointment-getting weighed-8lbs 12oz

Erick discovered that nose to nose calms him down!  We are so lucky.
